Education Commencement

With June comes the end of the year, the school year that is. As classes are winding down and temperatures rise, we wanted to offer some helpful information for everyone from elementary to college students.

First we’re getting ready for summer with ideas about how to stay busy while school is out of session. Whether you work, volunteer, travel, read or some combination thereof, it’s so important to stay active–physically and mentally–over the summer. In fact, as one of our articles discusses, educational researchers believe that being idle over the summer is one of the primary reasons for the achievement gap, or disparity in test scores, between different groups.

Then we’re looking ahead to the future: college loans. There is a lot of information that can be confusing surrounding the issue so it’s important to understand the different programs available. We explain the various types of government loans as well as the terminology that can complicate the issue. We also discuss recent changes lawmakers have made for student loans in the future and quick facts summarizing a student’s options.

Have a fun, productive and engaging summer!
